Global Language Strategies Exhibits at the NAJIT Conference 2024
For those who don’t know what NAJIT stands for, it is the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators. This year’s NAJIT conference was held at the Omni hotel and conference center in Providence, Rhode Island. It was their 45th annual conference. GLS was represented by two of our seasoned managers for language services, Ms. Bouchra Araji and Ms. Denise Franco Grimsley. The title of the conference was “Exploring the Future of Translation & Interpretation.” GLS was among 12 language service providers (LSPs) and USG agencies representing the language services industry.
GLS’ goal for participating in this conference was to introduce the company and its core values to the talented legal translators and interpreters who were in attendance. Denise and Bouchra were setup in the Waterplace Ballroom, where linguist visited in between sessions, and that gave them a wonderful opportunity to connect with attendees and talk about GLS. The table was very nicely decorated and included a dancing inflatable, mints, and candy. There were also free pens, magnetic clips, brochures, and business cards with a QR code linked to relevant positions on our website.
Denise and Bouchra also held a raffle prize drawing and gave away some prizes that were relevant to conference attendees’ work. Denise and Bouchra showcased the company's background and its contracts with US government clients as well as discussed GLS’ specific needs for highly qualified legal interpreters and translators. The event was successful and provided GLS with the opportunity to connect with almost 100 linguists who expressed interest in working with us. Denise used her language skills in Spanish and Portuguese, and Bouchra used her French and Arabic language skills to connect with the linguists.
