2nd Quater 2025 Spotlight Awardees
Linguist in the Spotlight 2nd Quarter:
Kimberly Wiggin has been a valued member of our linguist team for over a decade, consistently contributing to our success with her dedication and expertise. Her journey with us began with a last-minute call for Italian and French translation, and from that moment, she has been an indispensable part of our team. With a lifelong passion for languages, Kimberly has built an impressive career as a Translator, bringing warmth and expertise to every project.
Her journey to translation wasn’t a straight line, but it’s one she cherishes. Kimberly earned a B.A. in French and Spanish, along with a Certificate in Translation; moreover, thanks to a kind professor’s nudge, she continued on to complete her M.A. after landing a scholarship to study commercial translation through the Comparative Literature department at Binghamton University in New York.
Kimberly’s career took off as a staff Translator for a New York City agency where she tackled exciting projects and soaked up knowledge from fellow translators and freelancers. She was afforded the opportunity to train with a United Nations Translator, a highlight she still talks about. After a short stint at a New Jersey agency specializing in medical and technical translation services, Kimberly returned to the NYC agency in a Project Manager role, which also included translation duties. After a few years, she embraced the freedom of freelancing, working as a Translator with agencies across the United States from the comfort of home.
When not weaving magic with words, Kimberly is curled up with a good book, her trusty Kindle, or creating art through knitting and weaving. Her favorite type of artistic technique is fiber arts. As a true dog lover, she’ll cross any street to give a cute pup a pat. Kimberly and her husband share their lives with two wonderful adult daughters, and their home is ruled by their feisty, adorable Wheaten Terrier, the third Wheaten to steal their hearts.
We are truly grateful to have Kimberly on our team; her dedication and contributions make a huge difference.

With nearly 11 months at GLS, Mark brings a wealth of experience to our team, having dedicated 19 years to the language services industry. For 16 years, Mark honed his craft in a German technical and marketing translator role, skillfully bridging linguistic and cultural gaps. Over the past five years, he has also excelled in project management, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery of high-quality language solutions.
His passion for languages was sparked in grade school, where he began learning French and German. This early fascination grew into a focused academic pursuit in college, where he studied both languages and explored translation. His commitment deepened during graduate studies in England, earning an M.A. that solidified his path in the language services field. The fun challenge of finding "le mot juste"—the perfect word to convey the meaning of a foreign language—continues to drive his work.
Mark relocated to Northern Virginia in 2009 with his American wife, whom he met during language studies in France. He spent seven years as a freelance translator before joining a small team of linguists in 2017, translating for Lidl to introduce European products to American consumers. During this six-year tenure, he transitioned into project management, bringing his expertise to a new dimension of the industry.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys learning about mobile and home automation technology. He also takes to the skies with a camera drone, capturing the scenic beauty of Northern Virginia from above. A proud member of the Capitol Hill Chorale, Mark enjoys singing and contributing to the vibrant community on Capitol Hill. He shares his life with his wife, two children and two beloved cats, making their home a lively and joyful space.
We are deeply grateful to have Mark on our team, where his dedication, expertise, and passion for languages continue to make a lasting impact.
